- Kind of pricey but well worth it
This wasn't the carrier I had put on my baby
registry but my mom heard good stuff about
it (she's a Labor and Delivery nurse) and
bought it for me. Ever since Emily was born
she has liked it. I liked how I could look
down at her when she was facing me and how
it supported her neck. She didn't like her
stroller much before so I used this a lot
when she was just a newborn just to go shopping
or run errands. Emily is now 5 1/2 months
and faces forward and loves riding in it and
watching everything. I wore it hiking in Colorado
and she had a blast. My best friend bought
a different carrier and was very disappointed
with how she needed an extra hand to put her
baby in it. When she tried the Baby Bjorn
she was amazed at how much easier it is to
put on and how much more comfortable it is
to wear. I'm 5'2" and my husband is 6'4" and
we can both wear the Baby Bjorn comfortably.
The only thing that isn't so great about wearing
it is how hot it gets. Emily and I both get
really hot but it doesn't seem to bother her
too much. Otherwise this is a really useful
item plus it doesn't look as tacky or obnoxious
as some of the other carriers I've seen.

- for colicky baby it's better than a sling!
I bought a sling, believing all the hype.
But my little gem is colicky. Poor guy freaks
out when I try to put him in the sling. You
can't get a baby whose body is completely
stiff into a flexible sling, but the Baby
Bjorn has saved my life! I put him in it when
he's screaming and just begin walking (either
doing household chores or otherwise). Within
10 minutes he's usually asleep. Removing him
from the outward facing position is a breeze--never
wakes him up. He is only 8 weeks old (7 when
I bought it) but loves facing out as many
colicky babies do. The Bjorn is the only carrier
that holds him firmly enough to do this at
such a young age. I do have to watch his head
movement and when he is falling asleep, I
put my hand on his chest up near his face
to support him when he sags forward.
In-facing works nicely too, but our little
guy rarely wants to face in.
With the Baby Bjorn, I feel like I have my
life back!

- Wouldn't buy anything else...
My husband and I had initially registered
for the Graco 3 in 1 carrier, because of the
great price. However, after someone gave us
a piece of advice to try on the carriers with
our daughter we decided to remove it from
our gift registry. Once she was born, we went
to Babies R Us, and tried on ALL of the carriers
with her. The Baby Bjorn was THE EASIEST and
SIMPLEST to use. The other carriers my husband
and myself needed the other to help- either
hold the baby or snap something into place.
Not so with the Baby Bjorn. The other carriers
were way too complicated. It was also the
more comfortable choice.
If you are worried about price, don't be!
It is worth the price. I can honestly say
that if we had been given another carrier
or bought another carrier, we would have taken
it back immediately and exchanged it for the
Baby Bjorn.
