- (Almost) Perfect!!!
I am a single mom to be, and I looked at a
lot of Play Yards online, spent hours reading
reviews and comparing prices, before I finally
decided on this one for several reasons. All
the features: Full size bassinet, the canopy,
the pockets, locking wheels. When compared
to what you get, the price is really reasonable.
My mother got this for me, and I had to open
it right away and "play" with it at my shower!
My baby isn't here yet, but I am sure this
Pack N Play will continue to satisfy us in
the long run. The only drawbacks: It tends
to be a bit heavy when packed, but they all
seem to be, the instructions on how to set
up and "break down" are a little unclear,
and it is too wide to fit through SOME doorways.
The first time we set it up, it took both
me and my mom. However, I "broke it down"
all by myself in minutes, carried it downstairs
to the baby's room and had it set up again
in a few more minutes all by myself. I've
heard some people complain about the noise
the mattress makes, I noticed this too. However,
I put two crib liners underneath the matching
sheet, and it seems to have corrected the
problem. Also, the pockets are great, and
there is even a "hidden" pouch on the mattress
to store the directions in when you travel,
say to a sitter's, for convenience. There
are also more accessories that can be ordered
(as well as replacement parts) from a form
inside the direction book. I've also heard
people say that the canopy can't be used with
the bassinet, but I have not had this problem.
Seems to work fine with me. My best friend
is also pregnant, due in November, and she
likes my Pack N Play so much, she registered
for the same thing!!! My opinion: despite
the few flaws, this is a great buy... The
pros more than make up for the cons with this
item. You won't regret this choice!

- Advice about noisy mat
As advised by another reviewer, I contacted
Graco to order the Animal Kingdom mat to replace
the very noisy Princeton mat. If you plan
to do the same, be prepared for the following:
1) rude customer service personnel; 2) the
Animal Kingdom mat may be back ordered as
it was when I called - expect a two month
delay. On the positive side, the unapologetic
customer service rep did eventually agree
to send the mat for only the cost of shipping.

- Great Pack N Play
I bought this pack n play a few weeks before
my son was born. I have to say this is the
best play yard/bassinet I have ever seen.
I love all the features. I have to admit though,
that the padding is a little noisy when the
child moves, but very easy to clean. I used
this pack n play as a bassinet for my son's
first 5 weeks of life. We kept it set up in
his room and used the changing table since
we didn't buy a traditional changing table.
Unfortunately my son grew out of the changing
table when he was only 6 months old. Our son
is now 14½ months old and we still put him
in there to play when I have to cook or clean
and can't keep a constant eye on him. We still
use the pouch that holds diaper changing needs
since we now have the pack n play in our living
room, but I change my son on the couch since
I'm expecting a new baby.
I would recommend this product to anyone.
It's well worth the price and it also matches
our swing.
